AIM (Association Insurance Management Inc.) is the PTAs insurance broker. You can also check out the CAPTA website for more information.

Insurance Payment Instructions:

The president will receive an email from AIM that it is time to renew and pay your insurance on October 7th.

The President should use the link provided in the email to log in.

Enter the full Insured number, including the letters that appear before the number.

Select “Forgot Password”.

AIM will then send the President a link to reset their password.

Once the password has been created, the unit number and password may be shared with the Treasurer to pay the insurance premium.

The president will receive an affidavit by email once the premium is paid.
This affidavit must be signed and submitted.

AIM will then email the Certificate of Insurance to the president.
Using the Unit ID and password, unit officers can access the insurance certificate and add any additional insured information as needed.

If your district requires an additional insured, be sure to provide that information.
Submit your insurance certificate to the district before the January 5th expiration date, if required.

When is Your Insurance Payment Due?

Your insurance is due now!

If you are late on your payment, you will incur a late fee of $50. There is no grace period.

Why Does My PTA Need Insurance?

Did you know that you, as an officer of your board, could be held personally liable for an accident that occurs at one of your events?

Personal liability means that your personal assets could be at risk if you were sued because of something that happened at one of your PTA’s events.

Insurance not only protects your PTA, but also protects you as an individual.

Does Your PTA Need More Insurance Coverage?

Does your unit need higher insurance coverage?

Before you pay your insurance premium with AIM, consider the amount of money you typically carry in your bank accounts. The maximum payout for an approved theft claim is $25k. If you regularly carry a balance above $25k, please discuss the option of increasing your coverage (and premium) with your board. There is a drop- down menu with options on the AIM payment portal. Here is a partial list:

If you leave the theft coverage at $25k, the entire policy premium stays at $305.

If you have already paid your premium and would like to increase your coverage, please contact AIM directly. Contact info can be found here: Insurance - California State PTA or at 800-876-4044.
