Newsletters, Program Book and Websites Awards
The PTA is a valuable resource and tool within our schools for all children and families. However, if we don’t get our word out and let our parents, school community, teachers, staff, and students know what is happening then no one knows we exist. We know that many flyers go home and all too often end up in someone’s trashcan - never to be read. Newsletters, program books and websites are valuable to the community we are trying to reach. This is why we at Ninth District PTA want to encourage every council and unit to provide these documents for their members and communities.
Each year Ninth District PTA recognizes outstanding newsletters, web-sites and program books from councils and units. This year a new category, newsletters only on websites, has been added. In this packet please find the criteria. Checklist, evaluation and entry forms are on one page each, for this program. We hope that every council and unit will participate in Spreading the News.
Every council and unit in good standing is eligible to participate in the Spreading the News program. We want to stress to each of you that the newsletters, program books and websites you submit must be the work of the PTA council or unit and not generated from the school or school district.
To enter please forward three (3) copies of your entries along with the completed form to Ninth District PTA by March 15, 2011. If you are submitting for the website or newsletters on the web-site only awards, fill out the form only. No accompanying documentation will be required. Newsletter awards submittals should include three (3) copies of three (3) different editions. Awards will be presented at the Ninth District PTA Annual Awards Event to be held on April 14, 2010. Ninth District PTA encourages you to plan to attend this event. You will be notified should your unit receive an award.
We look forward to learning how you are Spreading the News in your communities and hope each and every council and unit will participate in this year’s program. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Karen Fleck
